Do I have ANY original thoughts?

Probably not.

Work is eating my brain, and I'm starting the job search now because when my contract ends in November, I do not intend to spend much time at all (if any) scrabbling for work.

Hey multiplexer, what do you think of this cool but odd instrument? I'd bid on it if I knew how to play such a thing. Instead I'll probably get an autoharp, the lazy person's path, and a Brian Bowers instructional video, and just noodle a bit.

Final passing thought that did not originate with me but which resonates. Somewhat. The guy's a stereotype but he says some things I want to reiterate.
Ganked from silaren.

Time for shower and work, in that order. Because, well, in the other order, I might Offend.

I can't access the "stereotype resonating thoughts" link, but I saw the musical instrument. Have you ever heard of a stringed instrument known simply as the "stick"? I should try to scare up a demo clip of that one, you might have fun with something like that if you are considering an autoharp.

Odd. I was able to connect, even here at work.

I've heard of the Stick.

If I wanted to spend much $$$ and look like a geek, they (Suzuki) make a thing called a 'Suzy Q' which is an electronic auto-harp, with a strum pad, a bunch of different 'voices', and a keypad rather like one would find on an accordion, but it's configured so that you could wear it like a guitar. AND you can plug in song cards with midi so you can play some song or other just by bashing the strumboard repeatedly.

How's that for laziness?

Check out my journal now, I just added a message with a link to two video demos of the Stick. It plays very easily from the appearance of the clips.

Cool. An autoharp with a ukelele resonating box and a fiddle bow. Not quite Myal Lemyal's instrument, but an amusing hybrid.
