American Idol will never be this good.

This year's Eurovision winner is far better than anything that smug, sanctimonious, noxious Simon Cowell ever produced. And it's also better than "My Lovely Horse".

Yipe!

I couldn't get through the first ten seconds of it. I guess "far better" is a truly subjective thing. Heavy Metal with cookie monster vocals... meh. And abrasive too.

Exactly! Much better than "My Lovely Horse"...

Also really better than the pabulum that passes for pop music on American I Dull.

No Eurovision winner has achieved global fame the level of Kelly Clarkson so far.

Simon Cowell is not the producer of AI, he's the judge. Simon Fuller is the producer (and manager of the Spice Girls etc)and creator of the show. I'm not sure Cowell has ever actually produced music, but he has assembled and packged it.

Y'know...I first saw GWAR many years ago. :)

He claims to be a producer.

Yeah, I saw GWAR a long time ago too :)

Kelly Clarkson has global fame? Couldn't prove it by me, I barely remember that she exists.

William Hung, on the other hand, has achieved a sort of backhanded fame that seems to have gone pretty far.

Cowell is the producer of several non AI tv shows.
I'm not sure of his music producer stats. He's listed as creating the opera boys group that had a number of hits the past year or so, but I don't know if he actualy did the music production.

Kelly Clarkson won several Grammy's this past year. She sells out concerts globaly.

Wasn't actually aware Eurovision went that far back. Strange, you didn't list Ruslana, who was the first winner I was aware of. She might have been 2003 or 4. I'll give you Abba and Celine Dione

I cut and pasted off of the "EuroVision Past Winners" page. I was pretty sure about Abba, and feared Celine Dion, but I was also pretty sure about Lulu, Katrina & the Waves, and Secret Garden.
