So, yeah. Very pretty movie, if a bit busy in places.

Lots of walk-on spots for people who won contests, waving signs.
So much randomness.

The writing... Not as good. Not as crisp. The directing wasn't as clean, and it showed in some not-as-effective scene changes and in a very weak closing scene. "Life Goes On" isn't a bad anticlimax, of course, but it's not very strong.

When you see it? Yes, the credits go on. You want to sit through them. Trust me.

The problem with the climax is that they didn't seem to know which plot should be the A-plot and which should be the B-plot. So when they finally DO decide, we get a really weak climax for what ended up being the B-plot.

Also, the movie was easter egg overload. Dozens of characters who are never introduced properly and who look so different from their comics incarnations that even seeing the names in the credits doesn't tell you if you even SAW them. The DVD had better come with a scorecard.

This is also referred to as "raising the bar so high you can't even see it."

I did, also, note that the kid whose mutant power is to twirl paper airplanes through the air, seems to have survived. What a useful mutation!
