Getting ready for a trip to Montana.

Much hassleness, as laundry and cleaning must be done to prepare, although cats will be sent into exile at the Vet's boarding place. Poor cats.
At least they'll be the ones who have to put the pill down Vinnie's throat.

I drove through Montana once when I was moving from Chicago to SF. Lots of long stretches of highway with nothing for miles and miles and miles. Good place to get away from it all.

I grew up there, at least until age 13.

There's precious little 'it' to get away from, there :)

I'll be taking my PSP and my laptop, with the hope that my uncle's internet connection is not dial-up.

Bring the cats. They can drive while you nap.

They're too lazy to drive, and my uncle has a cat phobia.

I believe he has no problem with pancakes. Just dislikes cats. Although he tolerated mine, but that's common courtesy.

The vet failed to advise me (although I should probably have remembered) that all cats must be up to date on every unnecessary vaccination, before they will board them.

Despite the fact that it's generally a waste of a Huge Chunk of money, and is risky or even dangerous to the cats, especially older cats, to get massive shots all at once, oh and that it wouldn't be effective until AFTER the cats were boarded, as it takes a few days for the vaccines to take effect anyway.

So they're at home with three bowls of over-filled food, two clean catboxes, and a full bottle of water in their perpetual watererer.

I fully expect punitive pooping to happen while I'm away.
