Dr. Who Geekery

In the 2006 season of Dr Who, episode "Love and Monsters" ... First off, what is this show, this blond guy's MySpace page?
And second, his girlfriend/etc. is Moaning Myrtle. Geez.

And third, it's screaming FILLER FILLER FILLER.

Hilarious though.

I liked it as a portrayal of the sort of chaos the Doctor leaves in his wake, with the people who he doesn't take as companions. Kinda expanding on some of the things Mickey was doing online early on in the Eccleston season. It did seem to be a "on the cheap" ep, done on location or in cheap sets, with only two (kinda lame) monsters and some real-time effects. But, aside from the "running in Speedos" scene, I liked it.

It was, in fact, a very good episode, and I do NOT want to know about their sex life, and by 'running in Speedos' I'm assuming you mean the absorbawhazit?

Who do you both like better, Eccleston or Tennat? Eccleston's delivery hooked us in easily at the very beginning with "Pleased to meet you Rose. Rrrrun for your life!!" I haven't seen any Tennat moments quite like that.

I like Eccleston better. He doesn't chew the scenery as much as Tennant, and he has a much stronger air of confidence.

Tennant reminds me of Tom Baker. (Nevermind the deleted post response, I was having a senior moment.)

Yep. Absorbathorazine in Speedos.

Meanwhile, I have to wonder if that actress is doomed to only work in "glasses ugly" mode.

I was indeed a filler/budget make up. While they were filming that, they were able to also be filming either Fear Her and the final eps or the Impossible Planet/Satan Pit combos...don't recall which. So a lighter episode with less budget usage and main actor time.

Torchwood has a similar filerish episode, but it's a rather good character piece too.

fyi: The asorbolof was designed by a kid who won a contest on Blue Peter.
