Presence Light

Goodbye, Grandma Velma, rest in peace.

My grandmother, Velma Straugh Kirkwood Sibley DuCharme, passed away this morning at around 6AM pacific time, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was 92 years old, with three surviving children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and rather a few great-great-grandchildren.

There won't be a memorial service immediately; she requested that she be cremated, and her ashes scattered on the high ridge that her oldest son owns, where the ashes of her other son, my uncle Bob, were scattered in 1997.

This may happen shortly, or not until the snow goes away, sometime around May. Mostly depends on how badly snowed in that area has become.

Edit: I've left comments screened, but for those of you expressing condolences, thank you.
