OK. John Scalzi is better than Heinlein was, when writing about space, about people, about science, and about war in space; I don't know how he does it but I hope he keeps it up.


He's also appearing here in the Beaverton Powell's Books on WEDNESDAY... and I've already got two competing things to do then.

Darnit.


Anyhwey, just finished reading The Last Colony and I am a melty puddle of SF bliss.

Even if these last two didn't reach directly into my soul and drag it through the stark, unfiltered sunlight in space to bleach out some of the dark bits, like the first one did.
