WEIRD PRODUCT

This is inventive recombination.

This is a 4gb SDHC card with built-in WI-FI that can upload your images from your camera without plugging it in.

Presumably it can't add wi-fi to a pc or laptop which doesn't already have it, but I suspect a driver could be written to enable it to do so.

Yeah, it's not new, but it's still inventive recombination.

Yeah, those Eye-Fi cards have been around for a couple of years now. I've never bothered with getting one because they always required XP or worse on your PC, and they involved running the pictures through a third party service.

I believe I read someplace recently though, that they've finally listened to their customers and started offering a version that allows you to upload straight through your access point to a folder on your PC, though the program to configure the card still requires XP or worse, you can't configure it unless you've paid the M$ tax.

If they're cheap enough and someone finds them useful then there's no reason why a program can't be written open-source to configure them.

In fact, it would be to their advantage to open-source it themselves.
